JeevesCDI M2, Dellorto/EFI/(Moric) CDI replacement for Rieju, Sherco, Drac, Beta, Motorhispania, Peugeot, Fantic etc (older and Euro4/5) mopeds
SHIPMENTS ONLY TO EU CUSTOMS AREA, DON'T ORDER OUTSIDE THE EUROPEAN UNION!
This is a plug-and-play replacement for every moped using Dellorto/EFI/(Moric as people seem to use also this name falsely) CDI with 24-pin connector including all the PWR numbers like 389, 391, 393, 399, 403, 406, 407, 408, 409, MC410, MC420, MC430/G, MC440, MC5-R, MC5-F (and also other numbers)!
IMPORTANT: Indicate the moped make, model, model year and model number of the original CDI module in the order form. E.g. engine kill button functionality differs between the mopeds and CDI models.
Totally new design improving good product to the next level! Microprocessor controls everything inside the CDI bringing adjustability, precision and self-diagnostics to the level of state-of-the-art. Now with two different user selectable ignition and airvalve maps and a separate, adjustable RPM limiter function that can be used with both the maps, if user wishes. And what the best, user is now able to modify all these maps and rpm limit by him/herself with computer via simple user interface! Custom connection cable included as a standard. Also possible to connect with phone (USB-A-to-XXXXX adapter needed, but not provided).
Self-diagnostics monitors and indicates faults via MIL led blinking sequences and show visually real-time data through USB-UART interface:
- Engine RPM
- Ignition advance
- Discharge Cap (max) Voltage
- 12V system voltage
- 3.3V voltage
- engine temperature
- CDI internal temperature
- Air valve output PWM dutycycle
- DCDC PWM dutycycle
- Used map and RPM limiter state
- MIL light state and reason for it being ON is shown clearly
Statistics screen shows previously used maps and stored MIL codes from earlier rides. It makes it easy to diagnose the problems.
Advantages and improvements over Dellorto/EFI:
- Ignition energy remains at steady, high value up to +20.000RPM
- Ignition maps easy to change and controlled very precisely throughout the rev range
- Easier start-up because of boosted ignition energy and dynamic ignition phase
- The latest firmware eliminates the possibility for kickback on the kickstarter lever
- Better idle due to better optimized ignition advance at low revs
- Works reliably in a much wider range of voltages than the Dellorto. In addition, the supply voltage is protected against over-voltage, over-current and false polarity by an automatically returnable fuse and protection circuit
- RFID tag readable with NFC-enabled phone contains product info including hw & firmware versions etc
- User can adjust maps and RPM limit easily
- RPM limiter works smoothly using first ignition retarding and finally ignition cut-off
- There is also a hidden editor in the serial terminal user interface for over 40 pieces of parameters and calibration values, which can be found and altered with help from CDI manufacturer to adjust almost anything on the unit, if needed for any reason
- Price is a lot cheaper than Dellorto/EFI
- Technical support works very well
- Each module is handcrafted, thoroughly tested at all stages of production, and calibrated with extreme precision.
- UNLIMITED WARRANTY for product defects
- NOTE: Opposite to many other aftermarket CDI units, return and cancellation of order ARE ACCEPTED with full refund, whatever the reason
About the technology:
- 64MHz Arm® Cortex-M® 32-bit MCU, 128 KB Flash, 36 KB RAM (for comparison, KTM uses on their fuel injected 2-stroke "TPI" models for engine management (ignition and fuel injection) an ECU with 16MHz 16-bit MCU, 256 KB Flash, 16 KB RAM)
- Optimal DC-DC Flyback topology voltage converter for providing Discharge Voltage fully dynamically closed-loop controlled via software with adjustable parameters. Energy up to 100mJ
- “Overkill” thyristor, high-quality capacitor and other components as well as careful circuit board layout ensure that the capacitor is discharged as quickly as possible through the primary coil of the ignition coil, resulting in maximum spark at the spark plug.
In addition, all the required functions of the Dellorto/EFI unit are implemented, such as
- speed sensor power supply and pulse reading, and pulse data transmission to the instrument cluster
- Monitoring the engine temperature sensor and transmitting overheating info to the instrument cluster
- Control of MIL light
- Transmission of the RPM information to the instrument cluster
- Controlling the air solenoid
- By default the B5 pin is not connected/functional, but on request can be connected to function similarly as on EFI EURO4/5 modules.
